Manufacturing Fear

1. I don't get scared too easily, and scary movies can occasionally freak me out, but usually I don't get scared. For that reason I suppose I do like getting scared. Sometimes you seem to think more clearly and faster when you're scared. Not only that, but I think it's funny watching other people flip out when something scares them. There really isn't a specific setting, I guess a movie theater is alright. I'm fine with being frightened in most places, it doesn't really bother me too much.

2. I will readily admit I am afraid of heights. I don't like them and I am not myself up high, away from the saftey of the ground. I think I'm more afraid of something terrible happening, that bothers me more than any blood or guts will. I mean I'm a guy! I play video games with blood in them all the time, that just doesn't bother me. But I don't like the idea of something terrible happening to someone I care about or love. That is scary for everyone I think.

3. Well, no one is exactly normal, so I can't just say that they are weird or have something unique about them. I think it would have to be... something very strange or disturbing. Like people that are predators on the internet, I might consider them mad. Because they are so disturbed and creepy that I think they must be out of their right minds, to even think about doing some of the things they do or talk about (like on "To Catch a Predator" on Dateline NBC, I love that show.)

4. I'm not sure what drives people to madness. But like the character in Poe's story, I think one small thing usually pushes them over the edge. Everything in their life builds up so much that one seemingly insignificant thing, like the Black Cat, is just too much for them and they blow a fuse. That's how I think it would happen.

Tom- We are similar in the way that we aren't scared of something that doesn't seem to be real..like in video games. I am scared that something might happen to one of my family members or myself though. It sounds like you are the same. I also agree with you on the predators in the interenet..CREEPERS. I love that show too! good blog!
