Poem Post

Here are 2 of my poems that I like.

My Little Dog

Heidi, my little dog
In my life, you are an important cog
Every day I couldn't wait to see you
Wagging your tail once I was in view
You barked and barked, and licked my face
No one could ever take your place
But then you got sick as you got old
And illnesses began to take their hold
We let you go, out of your pain
Holding you as you left caused me emotional strain
Even now, on the edge of tears
It feels like I haven't seen you in years
So I ask you, my little dog, my friend
Will the pain from missing you ever end?

That was about my old dog, Heidi. Now I have a 2 year old dog named Ben, who is the focus of my next poem.

Ben The Baller

My dog Ben is such a baller
He acts like a person, I'm just taller
When we play ball in my backyard
Getting it back from him is really hard
He jukes to the left, jukes to the right
If I try to take it from him he puts up a fight
As he runs, past the Bush
He looks like the dog version of Reggie Bush
The way he runs, he ruins the grass
And he breaks my ankles and I fall down fast
He throws the ball up in the air
And he runs after it without a care
He runs so fast that he gets tired
When just a minute ago he was wired
I love my dog, he's a crazy boy
And the ball in my yard is his favorite toy

And even though I'm not supposed to submit this, I think it's kind of funny so I'm posting this.

Rotten Apple

Now, now I am mad
My new Ipod is broken
I hate you Apple

You don't have to comment on the Haiku unless you really want to.

Tom,

I thought this poem was very sweet. It reminds me of my old dog Quinnie and I can relate to where you are coming from.

We let you go, out of your pain
Holding you as you left caused me emotional strain

This shows that you truly cared and even though you didn't want him to go, it was best for him and the emotions are obvious in this part.

In my life, you are an important cog
This just sounds a little weird. Maybe change the dog part to like my friend and then "in my life, ill remember you until the end" ? i don't know just kind of an idea

Tom,

What emotion, what delivery, what a great uses of imagery. I loved the first poem it was really really and i mean really great.

So I ask you, my little dog, my friend
Will the pain from missing you ever end?

Wow this line just blow me away. what a great way to end a very emotion filled poem. It shows the compassion, care, and how you didn't want to let him go.

Wouldn't change a thing. this poem is just great.

Great Job Man.
